Community Health Programs
Community involvement is very important to us at Active Life Institute. We volunteer our staff time as much as possible for non-profit organizations.
For example, we provide low or no-charge wellness services like:
What is a Community Health Check Day?
A Community Health Check Day is organized by Active Life Institute for the public. Typically, between 5 and 10 local health care professionals are present and offer health screenings and health-related information such as:
- blood pressure checks
- blood sugar level checks
- cholesterol test
- bone density scans
- blood pressure checks
- muscle stress tests
- posture analysis
- gait analysis
- carpal tunnel checks
- therapeutic massage
The Active Life Institute organizes these at low or no-cost as turn-key, in-house events, held at a local business, church, or school. Special arrangements can also be made for a local expo or fair.
What is the Dinner With the Doc program?
This is a dinner-time health workshop with one of our doctors, on topics like work place ergonomics, stress management or, (and this one is very popular) lifestyle changes to prevent osteoporosis, which includes a bone density scan.
There is no charge for this workshop which includes a health-conscience dinner at a popular local restaurant.
Sessions fill quickly for this very popular event, so be sure to call in advance to reserve your spot. Spouses and significant others are encouraged to attend together for maximum benefit.
What is a Health Assessment Booth?
From time to time, the Active Life Institute provides fast and painless personal health assessments for groups of people. Our most popular service consists of computerized measurements of the muscular stress that builds up in your back and neck. This stress can effect the rest of your body in a variety of ways.
Free health assessments are usually held at expos, fairs, malls, and special community events, but they can be done anywhere there is a gathering of a group of people. Typically, a doctor and one or more support staff will be present in a booth.
There is no charge to the public to use this service or to talk to the doctor about his or her health problem.
What is a Teacher Appreciation Day?
This is an event which is organized by Active Life Institute and held at
local school districts where we take some time out to take care of our
teachers, administrators, and school district staff. Services are offered free of charge and typically
include:
- muscle stress tests
- therapeutic massages
- gait analysis
- health screenings (including some or more of the following: blood pressure checks, blood sugar level checks, cholesterol test, etc.)
- etc.
What is a Walking/Standing Foot Scans?
This is a revolutionary computerized diagnostic tool for assessing the pressure points in your foot and the way walk. If you have pain, this may help the doctor
identify why and what type of treatment is needed.
What is a Guest Speaker?
Active Life Institute doctors and certified specialists are
available at no charge to speak on specific health and active lifestyle
topics.
Call our office for details.
