Podiatry > Toe Problems > Custom Made Orthotics

Custom made orthotics are inserts that are worn in shoes. They are specifically made and are unique to each person. Dr. Parikh is one of the only doctors in the area that uses a innovative tool, the computerized foot scan. This cutting edge technology allows Dr. Parikh and the patient to visualize how the foot is functioning when standing and walking. She then uses this scan along with a molding of the foot to send to a lab that constructs the orthotic. Orthotics can be used to treat a variety of ailments including plantar fascitis, achilles tendonitis, neuromas, bunions, and arthritis. Diabetic patients also can benefit from a more cushioned orthotic to alleviate pressure off their feet.
